Simon Hirst
Simon Hirst is a radio presenter. He was born, and continues to live, in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Simon has presented "Hirsty's Daily Dose" at the flagship Galaxy 105 in Yorkshire since 2002, with Danny Oakes and JoJo Kelly (previously known as JoJo Moorhouse) - a show which has the biggest breakfast time audience for any non-national commercial station outside of London. He also presented the networked chart show Hit 40 UK until October 2006,having replaced Neil Fox on a permanent basis in 2004 after a number of successful holiday relief shifts on the show.
Along with the co-presenters of his Galaxy 105 breakfast show, he won the Arqiva Commercial Radio Presenters of the Year in the CRCA Awards,and was shortlisted for a Sony Award for Best Breakfast Show in 2005.
Before working at Galaxy 105, he presented Hirsty's Morning Glory on Viking FM in Hull, with Darren Lethem, Danny Oakes(known on-air as "Pimp Daddy Dogg") and Jamie York - a show which gained them a Bronze Sony Award. His career has also taken in the following stops...
