The Knowledge

From Media UK's The Knowledge. Last update: 14:14, 2 Apr 2006 by James Cridland. Based on work by James Cridland.

Welcome to Media UK's The Knowledge, a part of the website that anyone registered with Media UK can use and add to.

The Knowledge doesn't really have a front page, since it's designed to add detail to directory entries or discussions postings. However, since you're here, you may wish to see the most recent changes or use the search box at the bottom of this page.

This site in a nutshell

  • If a link is red, it means it doesn't exist yet. Click on it, and you'll edit that page.
  • Anyone can edit any page. Hitting 'history' will show you who's done what.
  • Anything that you type into here will be kept - all versions of articles are stored in the 'history'.

Advice for contributors

  • Want to play? Come and play in sandbox (a special page which you can fiddle with as much as you like).
  • You may wish to create articles in Television, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, or News reporting. Media UK information is also beginning to be added to The Knowledge.
  • When creating a new page for a media title, ensure its name is exactly identical to that name in the directory, for an instant link.
  • To make your article appear in the article list in directory section indexes, add a category by typing [[Category: Newspapers]] at the bottom of your text. Television, Magazines and Radio are also valid categories. Note that good practice is not to add individual media title articles to the article list.
  • If you're looking for something to do, try Project:To Do - and Project:Good Practice is how to do it well.
