ITV Digital
ITV Digital broadcast a selection of digital terrestrial subscription channels and a pay-per-view service jointly operated with SDN. The service was originally launched to the public as ONdigital on 15th November 1999.
ITV Digital was rebranded from ONdigital on 11th July 2001. To co-incide with the rebrand, the ITV Sport Channel and ITV Sport Plus premium subscription channels were launched. Later in 2001 the pay-per-view service was rebranded to ITV Select. ITV Sport Select, a football pay-per-view service was launched, and soft porn pay-per-view was launched under the name For Adults Only.
The service never made a profit, and in early 2002 owners Carlton and Granada stopped investing money in ITV Digital citing the cost of football rights for the ITV Sport channels as the reason. On 27th March 2002, the company was placed into administration, and at 7am on 1st June 2002 all transmissions were suspended.
ITV Digital was later renamed as ONdigital 1998 plc before being liquidated.
