Established in 1998, AMI (www.AMIplan.com) is a highly regarded web-based business information service, listing thousands of future events in a searchable database from next day to 12 months ahead. Our planning products are relied upon by the national broadcast and print media, business & financial services, government departments, financial institutions and PR companies. Clients include the BBC Today programme, Sky News, ITN, the Foreign Office and Treasury, plus most major national newspapers to name but a few.

Content is arranged across 130 categories covering news and politics, entertainment, lifestyle, business, & industry sectors.


The Role:
The Corporate Data researcher position is office based, in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey (approximately 12 miles SW of London) , and will be geared towards researching and maintaining a comprehensive forward schedule of global corporate events. This is achieved within the team through blanket monitoring of company and stock exchange websites, filtering of company press releases daily, regular phone contact and extensive checking of current data.

The corporate data team currently covers over 7000 global stocks (companies) in 50 different countries. The corporate data researcher will be expected to take responsibility for the information from certain countries and certain indices.

As an integral member of our busy team, your job would involve:

• Checking of company websites, stock exchanges and news wires.
• Adding items to the database
• Phone checking and web researching of events listed on the database
• Adding new organisations and contacts to our directory

Full training will be provided as part of an ongoing in-house training programme.

Candidate profile:
Essential skills:
• Proven ability to deal with large volumes of data and work methodically to deadlines
• Working knowledge of financial markets
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Good telephone manner
• Ability to use the internet as an effective research tool
• Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude

Preferred skills - candidates will be at an advantage if they can demonstrate one or more of the following:
• European language skills (French, Spanish, Italian or German)
• Relevant degree (eg. Business, Finance)

Terms & Conditions:
Starting salary £15k
Full time (37.5 hours per week), usual hours 9.00-5.30pm.
6-month probationary period.
20 days holiday per annum, rising to a maximum of 25.
Subject to satisfactory references.
Start date ideally Mid September.

Interview process

The first interview will include a short test on research skills.

A second interview will be less formal and will include you shadowing an existing member of the team.
