Afternoon Show Presenter, BBC Hereford & Worcester
This job is located in Worcester or Hereford (map)
BBC Hereford & Worcester, the Sony-winning station, is looking for a new afternoon presenter. We want someone with at least 3 years experience working as a presenter in BBC or commercial radio.
You should be entirely audience focussed in your outlook and be able to produce and present great speech and music radio in equal measure.
Forget any preconception as to how you think BBC local radio should or used to sound. We want to go to the next stage where BBC Hereford & Worcester can provide 21st century local programmes to a local audience.
As the Afternoon Show presenter you will be expected to hold (or build!) the audience from mid morning until Drive and we want you to care about your RAJAR results. You can be a risk taker but also work well in a team.
You should know how to run a disciplined clock, be organised and able to work well within finite resources. You must have an eye on the trends and lifestyle of a contemporary 45+ listener. You should be passionate about delivering well produced programmes and reflecting the tastes of a local audience which spans two counties from Birmingham to the Black Mountains.
You should also be motivated to win awards for yourself and the station! Above all we want you to care about your performance on a daily basis and be able to take feedback. In return you will have access to the programming resources of the BBC and the knowledge you are part of the world’s premier broadcaster.
